Jason Nevins
Unless you've been living on Pluto for the last decade, there's a good chance you'll have heard of Jason Nevins. A talented producer, remixer and DJ, Jason came to prominence with the release of his remix of Run DMC's 'It's Like That' in 1998.
You've just started using Alchemy recently. What do think of it? What do you like about it most?
ALCHEMY IS AMAZING! I just started playing around and instantly there are things I love about it. I love that you can switch between "simple" and "advanced" mode, a concept that I wish other companies would implement. Sometimes I don't want to see all the 'behind the scenes' stuff and just do basic tweaks ... perfect.
I love the sounds, some sounds that I definitely don't have. Love the drums. I started to immediately lay down a quick beat that could be really cool for a hiphop / electroish / pop track. I also love using it in simple mode. I'm using Alchemy in mixes for Kat Deluna, Jay Sean, Jessica Mauboy, Livvi Franc, Ashley Tisdale, Ciara & Justin Timberlake ... as well as original projects of my own.
That brings me to the next thing ... the remix pad. Great idea - love it. Makes tweaking easy, fun & creative.
Could you tell me a little about why you like CamelPhat? What do you use it for? What are your favourite feature(s)?
The name says it all: 'phat'. I love the ease of use and how you just have to turn it on and get a much fatter, thicker sound. I use it for individual tracks like beats and bassline to thicken them up. Sometimes it is a problem solver when I have a part that isn't loud enough in the mix - it comes in very handy.
CamelPhat is the MUST have plug-in for dance music! If you make any sort of electronic music you should be using this - its the 'Swiss Army Knife' for helping create cool music. It's used in EVERY SINGLE production. Indispensable...
