Steve Everitt is best known for his work with Ozric Tentacles and Eat Static. Ozric Tentacles pioneered the evolution from cosmic rock to organic dance within festival culture. Eat Static, a 3-tentacled, techno-based, UFO-obsessed project, was formed to pursue a passion for computer-sequenced dance music. Steve now composes TV music for BMGZomba.

What do you like most about Cameleon 5000?

This is a unique synth with a sound for every composition. I particularly enjoy creating complex, evolving pad textures for dark, extraterrestrial music. This is the first synth that I have lost myself in since the DX-7. There are simply not enough hours in the day to play with this inspiring plug-in.

What do you like most about CamelPhat?

Phat by name, Phat by nature. The tube distortion always provides the necessary grit or filth for bass and drum parts, and the magic bottom end EQ ensures that bass parts and kick drums really kick. CamelPhat's envelope filter is a superb musical tool when applied to breaks and loops; perfect for mutant funk. The 'forced' resonance of the dual bandpass filter has just the right kind of 'mouthiness' that I like, and automated sweeps can easily be created in Logic.

I have been an avid fan of this simplistic, unique and effective plug-in since it was first released, and I use it on every session.
