Alchemy News: New Features, Presets & Samples in January

We are currently hard at work completing the finishing touches to Alchemy 1.12 (which has many new features including playback position indicators, improved Cameleon import as well as improved keyswitching and skinning). We've also been extremely busy finalising an extra 1.7GB of new sample content and 150 presets, which will be free to all registered Alchemy users. Both Alchemy 1.12 and the new content are with our beta testers now. We expect to officially release Alchemy 1.12 and the new content in early January.

We are sorry we aren't able to deliver all these things before Christmas - we have all been working extremely hard to try and achieve that. Unfortunately certain issues are taking a little longer to iron out that we anticipated - partly due to the very large number of new customers we've had recently. We believe that it is better to take a little longer and deliver higher quality.

We're pleased to announce that two of the most popular sound designers (judging from our survey) - Junkie XL and biomechanoid have completed work on their new soundbanks, and that they are both currently undergoing testing. Our very own biomechanoid has been working phenomenally hard on his Biolabs bank for over a year now, and its packed full of great sounds and remarkable patch programming and also comes with a brand new Alchemy skin. Both banks will be available in early January and priced at 59USD/49EUR/39GBP - so start saving now!

Here's a run down of the new free goodies for all registered Alchemy users which will be available soon:

We've already created all of these and they are available for beta testers to download. Nucleus Soundlab have done a great job and provided some great sounds, and the choirs are lovely!

* 50% Off Soundbank Coupon - applicable to upcoming soundbanks
Our web guy has been busy and implemented a new coupon system to allow us to do this. We will email you with details in a newsletter in early January, when we will also be releasing the new Biolabs and Junkie XL soundbanks.

* Alchemy Sounds Mystery Bonus - additional high quality samples and presets.
We've been busy talking to some of our favourite sample library developers, and we're very close to a deal that we are really excited about and we think you will be too. This content is likely to be released simultaneously with 1.13 as some of it will require the improved 3rd party sample library support which we will be adding in that version.

Beta testers already have had access to Alchemy v1.12 and all the new content (though we've just temporarily taken the file down to fix a few things, but it will be up again later this evening). We're looking to find some more enthusiastic people to help us beta test new updates to Alchemy. The main reward aside from helping us build an even better synth, is access to the latest features at the earliest possible time. To qualify you must own Alchemy, be prepared to use versions of Alchemy which are likely to be less stable and may have preset compatibility issues, download each update and use it for at least an hour or so and write clear bug reports using our bug tracking system explaining precisely how to recreate any problems you encounter (you may not post about bug reports on this forum, though it is OK to discuss features here).
